Discussion of the Yasko Protocol for Treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

amy yasko treatment for cfs

Postby Chronicfatiguetreatments » Thu May 10, 2007 8:06 pm

i thought that i would add this section to the forum, because i am currently on the protocol and so far am having some decent results. Right now im taking charcoal (which helps alot), folapro, and hydrox b12. Ive only been doing it for about 2 weeks so it might take more time to determine whether it is going to help or not.

Also i thought this would be a good place to discuss the genetic profile because they are so difficult to understand.

here's a link to my blog where i discuss it in more detail

Re: Charcoal

I too have found taking charcoal of some benefit in the past. I was just wondering how much you take and at what times of day, that is how long you allow between taking charcoal and taking any supplments.

I took 2 560mg pills twice a day. I tried to take them an hour or more after i took my supplements, so they absorb any of the pills i was taking.
They definatley helped me, and most other supplements that detox also help alot.

i was thinking about doing this. Im not sure that i want to pay for the genetic testing, but i might do the simplified protocol. That sounds easy enough.

I tried a couse of antibiotics, as was recommened to me by a doctor, but that didnt do a whole lot for me. Back to the drawing board.

I was doing a little reading about this, i guess that the treatment was first being used on autistic kids, but now is being used on chronic fatigue. I want to know if anyone is doing any better on it.

UPDATES?

Postby dannybex » Wed Dec 17, 2008 2:59 pm

It looks like it's been a long time since anyone posted about the Yasko Protocol...

I'm curious if anyone thought it was worth it? Did the testing, etc., make a real, lasting difference regarding your symptoms and/or quality of life?

THANKS,

Dan

i did all the testing and even paid someone to interperet the results for me.

I had some decent results on the supplements that were recommended to me. Im still a long way from better, but they definately did help.

Found a few new supplements to add to the arsenal im already taking.

If you are interested, but dont want to pay for all the testing. You should try the simplified yasko supplements and see if they help.

I would have saved alot of time and money if i would have just done that first;)

Could use some help with...anything and everything!

Postby GooberSue11 » Mon Mar 16, 2009 10:37 am

The doctor that I see for FMS/CFS recommended just the first two items in the Yasko protocol. I don't know if he thought that was all I needed or if we will add others at different times. I guess I will find out more when I see him Wednesday.

The same doctor has also started me on another new supplement (I supposed it would be called a supplement). I have been taking it for about three weeks now and have had some improvement. I hope it's not just the placebo effect! He has me taking Oxytocin (something that occurs naturally in the body, but we can be difficient in). It is created by a compounding pharmacy in Colorado. This is something that was discovered through a study by Dr. J.D. Flechas. I haven't found much about it on the internet yet, but I'm still searching. I just thought I would share the information in case anyone is interested.

Now, about this charcoal that a couple of you are talking about...what does it do? Where do you get it? Is there a particular kind you should take and how much do you take? It seems I have heard of taking charcoal, but never had the opportunity to ask anyone about it. (Meaning I never can remember to ask!)

I went to a Dr. name jay goldstein(retired now) who was using oxytocin, he said it was one of the things that helped his patients the most. I tried it and it didnt do much for me, but i think it did help other people.

Actually i stopped taking the charcoal. I was trying to cut down my supplements. I forget where i got it, you can find it in google . search 'activated charcoal'

I have a suggestion for a new section - how do I give you more details?
