|
|
Hi - I received the Ashok Gupta amygdala retraining package yesterday. It contains 4 dvd's and one audio cd, a book and a chart.
I have been thru session one and two on the first dvd which amounts to an introduction and a detailed description of the cause of CFS.
I am totally convinced that this guy has got it right and I'm also totally convinced that this course will help me to recover from CFS.
I feel more positive that at any other time since I've had CFS.
I will keep you updated on my progress.

good luck with that. Im really anxious to see how it turns out for you. I wasnt too sure about it, but it will be good to see if you have any results.
what kind of material is on the dvds?
is it relaxation techniques, or hypnosis? |

Hi Vegasv
There is an awful lot on the dvd's I have only done the first two dvds so far and that covers a detailed introduction and Ashok's understanding of the cause of CFS, which is extremely interesting. The second dvd covers the main Amygdala Retraining technique - this is quite a unique method and uses Neuro Linguistic Programming - not easy to describe. As far as I know there is no hypnosis, there are a further two retraining techniques, a meditation and possibly something else but I don't know because its going to take some time before I get to that point.
I suggest you go to Cort Johnson's diary
http://phoenix-cfs.org/BlogAmygdalaTraining1.htm
- he has his own CFS website and has been doing this course for a couple of months now - what he has to say is both interesting and very encouraging.
Personally I am extremely impressed by the course and very hopeful of a good outcome.

hey ken,
sound pretty interesting. To be honest im still a little skeptical, but people have had some good things to say about it. but i still want to see if anyone really actually gets better from it. Ashok claimed a 90% success rate, soi guess we'll see. But please keep us up on your progress.
thanks

Well I've only being doing it for 7 days, however, I have felt somewhat brighter the last 2 or 3 days. Feel a lot more positive and doing things with more panache. My wife had planned a trip to Auckland to see our daughter, a trip of around 440 kms round trip. I haven't done this trip for over 3 years because I just haven't felt up to it but I surprised myself and opted to go and I did some of the driving too! Maybe the improvement is a placebo effect from doing something about my CFS - but I honestly don't think so.
I've had problems with breathing in the past, especially shortness of breath which is a CFS symptom so it comes as no surprise to me that three of the exercises he gives are based or coupled to breathing!
I'll let you know if I improve further.

| good luck with the course, it would be nice to see someone actually recover or improve significantly. Ive had my ups and downs with different treatments and I like how this is something totally different from everything else that ive tried. Ill defiantely be checking back to see how you are doing with it |
