Hi Mike,
I have this problem. Dizziness and lightheaded constantly. I was on Diamox for headaches for 15 years I had these symptoms. A new Dr. took me off the Diamox. My BP has gone up. And my dizziness is much improved. I had been told by a prrevious Dr. that I had neurally mediated hypotension. Not so. I was fluid deprived. |

| i have NMH and i took beta blockers for it for a while. Its not bad all the time. I think its a pretty common symtpom of cfs. My dr wanted me to go take a tilt table test, but i already know that i feel faint so i dont need a test to prove that to me. |

Think in CFS it's most often caused by low cortisol (from adrenal fatigue/hypoadrenia) and/or low blood volume and/or chronic hyperventilation.
A lot of doctors like you to take in a lot of water and salt daily. Think Teibaum (can't spell anyone's name this morning!) likes you to take up to 8g's of sea salt a day. (not usually a problem if you've only got low blood pressure.) and some CFS'ers have had great results with saline drips, apparently!
I also got bad patches of this with certain virual infection/flare-ups. Orthostatic hypotension/tachycardia. Still a common viral symptoms for me - think it's caused by faulty baroceptor reflexes. Generally better with lots of horizontal rest throughout the day - (probably the best way to recover from CFS. A lot of success stories I know of, including a few famous ones, got better with tonnes of rest and little else) - and the mitochondrial supplements on the Dr Myhill plan seem to make my body more able to cope with these spells... (although I still think the key is probably being well hydrated and allowing the adrenals lots of time to recover - and B vitamins... Got to remember the B vitamins!) |

| Dizziness upon standing is caused by an inappropriate drop in blood pressure, which many doctors and researchers claim is a hallmark of CFS. There is a lot of research on it, including tilt-table testing. |

| Hi there- I was having bad symptoms of "air" gasping, elevated heart rate and extreme cold sensitivities. basically, low blood pressure. My naturopath told me to take Apple Cider vinager, salt and water and within minutes most of those symptoms went away. I was so thankful because every other MD told me it was anxiety. This might help with your dizziness. |
