Ever sincec ive had cfs ive always had to go to the bathroom so frequently. I never had this problem before. Especially when i am trying o go to sleep. I have to get up to go to the bathroom about every 5 minutes and even when i fall alseep. I wake up in the ,middle of the night having to go to the bathroom. I think Cfs is making my bladder shrink . Its pretty annoyng. I have yet to go and ask a doctor about it. I wonder if there are any herbal things i could take for it or maybe even a persciption thing. Anyways just venting. If you have this to let me know. I would be good to know if im the only one or not |

Kind of embarassing but, i have this also. I dont exactly know what to do for it either. Im not really to the point where i want to take a perscription drug for it but, it is kind of an annoyance. I;m pretty sure that there is a drug for frequent urination problems, because i have seen one advertised on tv. Maybe someone else would have more information |

| Hi there, I think the condition is called Irritable Bladder, it's a bit like having cystitis but without the pain. It can come and go. I had it really bad last summer but it settled down and I only get random mild attacks now. |

Sounds like some kind of mild infection in your bladder or urinary tract. Pain is not always a part of it. See a doctor though and let us know what he says.

No, it's most likely not an infection. Urinary frequency is one of the most common symptoms of CFS/ME, and fairly common in fibromyalgia as well. It's just that people don't often talk about this, so many don't realize it is a common part of their illness.
Drugs that can help include antihistamines (especially hydroxyzine), alpha blockers, beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, anticholinergic drugs, alpha agonists and desmopressin. Some doctors think candida can be the problem and thus antifungals might also help. Unfortunately non-pharmaceuticals are rarely of use. On the other hand, some of these drugs (especially calcium channel blockers) can relieve many other symptoms too.
