How do you survive?

Postby StarDust » Wed Nov 18, 2009 5:39 pm

How do you manage to pay for a shelter and food and other essential stuff without being able to work more than a few hours a week?
I just don't feel I'm going to survive alone with debilitating fatigue in this society.

sry if question isn't about treatments, but maybe it can help many to get to survive with this.

I could only suggest that you express to your GP your dire predicament. Maybe he/she could refer you to a welfare centre that could help you. I get a disability pension and only just get by.

Try taking Adderall. Ask your doctor to prescribe generic adderall extended release. I take 40 mgs extended release generic Adderall. You can try taking 20 mgs to start. It enables me to work. you might need to take Klonopin 1 mg at night for sleep. The generic adderall takes away 99% of my CFS symptoms. Without the adderall I would be unable to work. and be bed bound. I am so sorry for your suffering and stress. I have been there.

hey Laura, I tried adderall, at first I took 10mg, it took most of my symptoms away as well, I felt normal for the first time of my adult life, it was awesome, when waking up in the morning I actually had energy to do stuff :? . Then after two weeks the effect faded, so I went to 15mg, I felt good again. Then same thing happened and I had to go to 20, 25...then I realized my body would build tolerance to it no matter the dose, so I stopped.

Hi stardust,

thats a very good question, i live with my parents but i dread to think what would happen if they couldn't support me. i live in the UK, would the goverment provide accomdation or would i be homeless, its a scary thought.

Hey neil, this possibility is constantly increasing for me, it kinda makes me scared because I doubt I could sustain myself. Maybe I could survive, but for what? Work at the grocery store 15 hours a week and sleep the rest of the time for all my life? At least where I am I can do some mentally fulfilling stuff, i can't study for school, but I can read and watch some instructive stuff online. I guess I could get some social assurance, but all I could do with that is get a room to sleep, some basic food and a feeling of shame.

I live at home. I dropped out of school and can't work and don't know what I'd do without my parents to support me. I'd probably end up ending my life sadly.

neil, If you have concentration and focus problems related to CFS, you might try approaching it from that angle with a psychiatrist. good luck, and it does really work

Anyone with their parents not supporting them? Everyone has their parents married and happy to pay for your food and shelter?
