pituitary disease

Anyone heard of these problems, i read on the internet this can sometimes be misdiagnosed for cfs. The tests for pituitary disease are quite complicated and are not offered on the nhs. Has anyone been tested for this? i think this includes tests such as adrenal insufficiency, test for tumors in pitutuary gland.

As I understand it the Pituitary Gland sends hormones to the Thyroid, the Thyroid sends hormones to the Adrenal Gland - so if the Pituitary Gland is'nt doing its job then that will affect both the Thyroid and the Adrenals which will in turn cause serious chronic fatigue much the same as Hypothyroidism does.

I had my thyroid checked too but it came back normal. I think you should do an adrenal test. It is a saliva test. I am certain I have adrenal fatigue but couldn't afford to do the test (I think it costs about £70). Might get it done soon though in a way it's pointless as I already know what the results will be. Might it may help with persuading my GP to prescribe me Cortef though.
