Detox with apple cider vinegar

Postby kenvj » Fri Mar 19, 2010 3:08 pm

My wife has been having a daily glass of apple cider vinegar for some time now and she says she feels better for it. I decided to give it a go too - I started on the recommended 2 tsps in a glass of water 3 x a day with 2 tsps of maple syrup. Within two days I was gettin severe detox symptoms. I didn't know it could do this so checked it out in Google and sure enough its a known detox agent - well one lives and learns!

i have to be terribly careful with any de-toxing agent. i seem to be tremendously sensitive to just about anything. in the past, i have suffered thinking i would come out the other end much better, it has never quite happened though, so i have abandoned major d-t's for now. i do drink loads of hot water during the day though, sometimes volvic , sometimes from the kettle. i can also manage a little milk thistle for my liver.

yes apparently it's really good for the liver! as long as it's unpasteurized and organic.
I feel a bit nauseaous when I take it sometimes, it might be a detox reaction I don't know.
Also it's known to make you lose weight (1kg /a month) if u take it three times a day before eating.

I dunno if I shd take it again because I have candidas, some say this vinegar is ok, others not so I don't really know what I should do. Cos I still have a bottle in the cupboard I could use again...

ah I think i've found the answer:

http://www.naturalnews.com/025452_vineg ... ndida.html

great!
thanks for reminding us of this interesting healing tool!
I'll start it again this morning after my daily oil pulling!

Annie - so far I'm the same - suffering a lot from detox symptoms, I've been having them for the last 5 weeks. They way I look at it is that I must be extremely toxic and if I can get rid of it all I will most likely get well again. I understand that if you are seriously toxic it can take more than 6 months of detoxing. I'm going to keep on trying to get rid of it all. I'm also told that its best when detoxing to get the detox pathways clear and the best way to do that is by doing cleanses particularly the liver cleanse. I intend to do the liver flush very soon.
Lili - thanks for the links - yes I understand that ACV is very good at getting rid of Candida.

I see whey some people take apple cider vinegar and one is to restore alkaline acid balance. Our normal pH level in the blood should be between 7.35 and 7.45. Our diet should reflect that our pH level should stay slightly alkaline. All foods we eat, after being digested and metabolized, release either an acid or alkaline into your blood. The foods that people tend to overeat –- grains, meat, dairy products -- all produce acid....

The alkaline-acid idea is that a diet high in acid-producing foods leads to lack of energy, infections, anxiety, irritability, headache, sore throat, nasal and sinus congestion, allergic reactions etc. Despite being an acidic solution, some proponents of apple cider vinegar believe it has an alkalinizing effect on the body, which is why one to two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in water is recommended as a daily health tonic.

A dentist friend once told me that although apple cider vinegar is good for you, it's not so good on your teeth. The acid that the vinegar contains wears away the enamel on your teeth, (as does any acidic food or drink). It is recommended that you drink the apple cider vinegar over a short period of time, instead of a long period of time.
