I see whey some people take apple cider vinegar and one is to restore alkaline acid balance. Our normal pH level in the blood should be between 7.35 and 7.45. Our diet should reflect that our pH level should stay slightly alkaline. All foods we eat, after being digested and metabolized, release either an acid or alkaline into your blood. The foods that people tend to overeat –- grains, meat, dairy products -- all produce acid....
The alkaline-acid idea is that a diet high in acid-producing foods leads to lack of energy, infections, anxiety, irritability, headache, sore throat, nasal and sinus congestion, allergic reactions etc. Despite being an acidic solution, some proponents of apple cider vinegar believe it has an alkalinizing effect on the body, which is why one to two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in water is recommended as a daily health tonic.
A dentist friend once told me that although apple cider vinegar is good for you, it's not so good on your teeth. The acid that the vinegar contains wears away the enamel on your teeth, (as does any acidic food or drink). It is recommended that you drink the apple cider vinegar over a short period of time, instead of a long period of time.
