I agree with CS, I guess the ones who are skeptical and dont try EFT or other techniques remain ill because they dont want to try. I know so many people/have heard or read becoming healthy again thanks to these techniques. Now I'm not saying that taking supplements and healing the physical body is not necessary, both should be done.

I think EFT is great it will interupt the cycle YES message back to the amygdala that there is something wrong.

I use the STOPs and EFT they both work.
EFT on deeper stuff and now use it at times when i am unable to do the STOP process or when there is alot of recurring thoughts.
**Do the meditations /Visulisation/S & F
Challenge the thoughts - Bullshit!
I have refamiliarised myself with the Gupta cds and the theory behind the AMYGDALA this has reinforced my belief.
I have used a coach.
I include extra guided meditations
i include some head massages/yoga/tai chi.

I wish I had done this along time ago - CFS is clearly a brain disorder which can be helped with a few methods :)

Thanks
CS

CS1 You give me hope, so thank you for continuing to post. I have to believe that there is a way out of this otherwise I just couldn't carry on. I have been sleeping 12 hours a night but not really improving. but I have started doing meditation/holosync and hypnosis on youtube and it is helping a bit. I've also made some positive changes to my diet. but then I have a sleepless night and feel like a zombie all over again. it's so so hard

Yes there is - if you cant do the full version of the STOPS do a shortened version (AWARE AMUSE AMAZING)and add some EFT if it helps. Dont get to hung upon your diet - eat plenty of fruit and oily fish and drink plenty of water.Although i seem to havea craving for spicy foods!

Add holosync they will relax you at a deeper level - i use their demo cd.
You could add some guided meditation and hypnotherapy relaxation cd - i got mine from my coach7

The guided meditation cds that I have 6 practices and they are great they go deeper than gupta CDS - relearning how to breathe, relax, deal with the inner bodymind, ways to feel protected, calming mind etc...!

Continue with the meditations and S &F and Visulisations

I found that I wasnt relaxed enough so the above addtional cds really support me whilst I do gupta and aid me to release more locked tension as well as head massages.

its really imperative to interrupt the thoughts whether it be by EFT or STOPS or both :) or the adrenaline cycle will just continually reaffirm to the Amygdala that these thoughts are OK and keeping your stress response going wacky! maybe look at the explanaton of the Amygdala theory.

Thanks

I'm glad these things are working so well for you C.S. as Alice says you give us hope!
Feeling pretty hopeless most of the time here. Trying a new anti depressant, Mirtazapine, only on a tiny dose and wary of putting it up as I have had bad experiences with tablets before. I hoped that if I felt less upset about feeling so ill, I would be able to get the positive affects of the Gupta programme, I do loads of stops but so much feels almost pre-verbal, a body feeling not words in my mind. I do try and interrupt it but it is pretty constant pain and malaise which is hard to shift.
I may be weird but when I do a deep relaxation I love it at the time, but it really knocks me out, I find it takes hours to come round, even when I have had a decent night's sleep. Not sure what is going on in my brain there, any ideas anyone?

I think much time can be wasted on these boards - there is so much negativity and understandbly.

If i were in your shoes and in hindsight of my own experiences i would :

1) Rewatch the CDS

2) Get a coach otherwise you will be going round in circles as I was - drop me a PM and ill send you some details.

Thanks

Annie,
I think I mentioned some yrs ago about a famous Australian psychiatrist in the 70s who gave it all away to teach meditation and was curing people of all anxiety, cancer etc. He went all over the world looking at various cultures and how they meditated and then formed his own opinion on how to meditate thru stillness. Here is a bit about his technique. http://www.meditationblog.com/2005/03/1 ... ie-meares/

Thanks for that info Nia - I found a site which teaches this type of mediation http://ezinearticles.com/?Meditations-- ... &id=375307 its worth looking at.
It reminds me of an old saying I've heard from time to time "Sometimes I sits and thinks - Sometimes I just sits"
Another bit of knowledge which will help the fight.

Beware of magnesium. If your fatigue is caused by ricketsia bacteria, you will be feeding the bacteria. In that case take potasium instead. See Dr Jadins website. www.chronicfatiguesyndrome.co.za for more info. She and her husband have cured thousands of fatigue sufferers

I read its actually not uncommon to be well from cfs for many years. The problem is that what is going wrong with the body in the first place still hasn't been dealt with. More research is required to find out what is causing some of the symptoms. The recent articles into XMRV are a move in the right direction. Not saying XMRV is the answer for everyone but theres definitley some sort of link.

One of my friends was better for 3 years through meditation and is now back into cfs. She has no clue what caused it but it shows that the fundemental problem in the body has not been removed and if it is some sort of contamination of the blood or an unknown virus no matter how much meditation, eft, will not permantley cure the problem.

Sorry to sound like a pesamist i suppose eft and gupta are worth it for the meantime until more medical breakthroughs take place.

Neil,

it's your choice to believe what you want to believe in but it seems like you always find excuses to not believe in the power of EFT or meditation. Maybe your friend got into CFS again but it doesnt mean its the case with everyone. I also know people being treated by the greatest CFS specialsit PR DE Meirleir (myself for starters and he screwed me even more) and they are ill again although they had specific tests and treatment, allopathic treatment, so u see u cant be sure that a treatment to the virus will be the answer either! Actually I dont beleive in it for one second personally..

I believe that if one is to heal, they first must calm the body so as it can heal....powerful positive thoughts. I have benefited greatly from EFT and the binaural beats just in 3 wks. I am not as reactive to situations. I am not great at saying the stuff "even tho" as I am getting old and forgetful so I follow ready made ones on the net and they seem to suit my purpose because I feel when I see their picture they are directly talking to me. This makes me feel good and I greet them every day. I am not convinced either that a virus is the cause...just and opportunistic bug that hooked into us when it saw tired our depleted body.

hi siouxie ,its interesting that the Magnesium Sulphate Paste from boots helped you,i`ll give it a go.
Hope i`m not repeating what others have written here, but i cant read much at the moment so i couldnt read the whole thread, years ago, maybe 1993? me action magazine had a big thing about magnesium deficiency ,it was a special "red cell magnesium testl" this isnt a standard test.some people had gotten over cfs with magnesium injections ,i remember one case of boy playing football again within weeks of the injections....

i did get my gp at the time to get the test done but the stupid nurse wouldnt listen to me & did the regular magnesium test (i have no faith in the nhs at all these days, way too much stupidy going on in it),but my gp did let me have magnesium injections regardles,it didnt help tho :-( it certainly hurt my ass the first time ,had to be done intramuscularly, i`m not sure if i should be depressed about being the only one who remembers the red cell test!....been ill so long, sigh

stu & his nutty little bunnys in brum

I have no problem with meditation or eft. I havent really tried eft fully but hoping to do so in the future. The only problem i have is people on here claiming that meditation is the full answer and the cure. I've seen it posted before. It's good to have hope but lets get real there currently is no cure to cfs. Everyone is still waiting for answers whether its the xmrv trial or some other piece of research nothing is down on concrete to cure it. I totally believe in trying everything once.

Vitamins and homeopathic medicine have been the biggest help to me and even got me in the gym when i thought it was impossible without them i would be in bed. This is all i know and i stick to my diet and vitamin supplements daily. there is evidence right there and i don't use meditation so how am i still better.
