Does chest pain happen to be one of the symptoms?

Postby gato » Sat May 02, 2009 10:28 pm

For the past 4 weeks, I have been having chest pains. They come and go, but hard to describe. The doctor checked my breathing and pulse and sent me on my way. She is a general doctor as I don't have a specialist.
I hope someone can relate. This is, by the way, my first time on this forum or any chronic fatigue forum at all. I do feel after one year with this illness that I need some support.
Thanks all.

Several CFS researchers/clinicials have discovered cardiac abnormalities and insufficiency in this condition. Dr. Martin Lerner, Dr. Paul Cheney, and Dr. Sarah Myhill. I have experienced occasional mild chest pain myself.

Dr. Cheney says laying on your back or sitting *with your feet up* will help improve blood flow. He soon will be releasing a video of a recent talk he gave.

I suffered from severe chest pains which were not heart pains for some considerable time. It can be caused by over-breathing - my chest pains went away after doing some Buteyko Breathing exercises.

I have had chest pains for 10 years now. I see Dr. Martin Lerner in Michigan. He and others are at the forefront of this type of research. CFS has more than one cause, however there is a subgroup maybe 1/3 who have a serios heart problem, including myself, which is caused from EBV viral infections. But this can be treated and reversed with Anti virals. I take valtrex as well as Valcyte in very high doses. also this heart condition will be overlooked and missed by most cardiologists. there is plenty of info and studies on the web.

Thank-you for all that replied to me inquiry. The heart condition is extreme and glad you were properly diagnosed, foley16,. I will research EBV viral infections; although Idon't think this is my problem. I do not know anything about Buteyko, but will look up that breathing exercise. Thanks again.

Hi Gato - maybe you should have a look at this http://www.emedicinehealth.com/hyperven ... ge3_em.htm
Buteyko Breathing is the answer to over-breathing, Google it. You can get home courses in Buteyko, one to one courses are very expensive.

Chest pain

It depends on whether you have a problem with blood pressure dropping when you are standing or even sitting up. For those who have a drop in blood pressure, they get a little light headed, might see flashing lights, get dizzy - if it keeps on, they can get short of breath, the chest can ache and even have their lips turn bluish.
This is what happens with my daughter when her BP is acting up. She has orthostatic hypotension. It goes away when she lays down.
