High Altitude better for pain

Postby Justice » Tue May 19, 2009 2:26 pm

I was in Germany for ten days and felt better than I have felt in a long time. Not only was I keeping up with my sister and mother while we drove all over Germany but they were the ones complaining about being tired and needing a rest. I have been back for about nine days and I can feel the inflammation and pain creaping back in. I spent alot of time in the bavarian alps but I'm at sea level here. I read somewere that, while researching a new book, Michael J. Fox spent sometime in a mountanous area and felt that his parkinsons symptoms were greatly reduced. I just thought this was interesting and wanted to share it. I can think of worse things than moving to the Alps. :)

We never know where all the pieces of the puzzle are!?

When my husband's brother died in Colorado Springs I went back to my doc an hour before we took off from Houston Intercontinental. I had been sick w/a sinus infection and bronchitis for a month. I had gone in 3 weeks before to the doc and got a shot and medicine and went home and stayed in bed. I could never recover from anything after I turned 30 unless I did strict bed rest. I had to spend most of my time in bed if I was ill, though I had 3 children and a husband. Occasionally my husband would hire someone to help me w/the house work.
We landed at Denver and were met by a young niece and another of my husband's brothers. They were in the niece's car and it didn't have a heater!! I couldn't believe it! Of course we were from a semitropical climate so it was much colder to us than them. Worse yet....they both smoked!!
I didn't think I would live to get back home, I laid awake half the night because I was so nauseated from the cigarette smoke. Breathing cigarette smoke would normally make me have bronchitis, how much worse could I get??
So, in 3 days I was well!! It was incredible and I've never been able to do that again.
We were in Co Springs for 5 days and the snow never melted. I've never been tested for a mold that I'm not allergic to. I have to think that mold in the air is a factor in my health. I didn't know it then but I also have asthma. The asthma didn't get bad until I moved to where I am now. But, coincidentally the mold count where I live now is worse than it is in Houston.
I also get better if I visit in New Mexico or northwest TX. That is good because other people don't understand why I can't eat what they eat.
So, all our illness is the same only different. I lived in northwest TX when I was a sophomore in high school and was very sick w/the flu or something. I never could get well, ran a fever every day and felt tired and sick all the time. I had always played sports before that. That was 51 years ago, I have seldom been well since then.
