Participants needed for Longitudinal Fatigue Study

Postby lizt » Mon Sep 08, 2008 6:29 am

Hi,

I'm a researcher working on a longitudinal online study investigating the predictors of fatigue, and am in need of participants. I don't have CFS myself, but three of my five siblings do, so I've seen how devastating it can be.

The purpose of our study is to investigate the relationship between fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression, viral infection symptoms, sleep disturbance, and a number of specific stressors, behaviours, psychosocial factors, and cognitions. As a longitudinal study, this research aims to help us better understand the way in which these factors impact on fatigue over a period of time. So, if you decide you would like to participate in the study, you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire at three points in time (i.e., now, 6 months from now, and then 12 months from now). The online questionnaire for each phase of the study will take about 45 minutes to complete.

This study is being run by Dr. Rhonda Brown and Dr. Einar B. Thorsteinsson from the University of New England, Armidale, NSW, Australia. And I'm the research assistant on the project :)

More information about the study and the first questionnaire can be found at:

Your participation in this study would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns about the study please reply to this post or email me directly at etemple2@une.edu.au

Cheers,
Liz
