I'm not sure what to make of this. I'm pretty sceptical, but it does sound like promising research. What's everyone's thoughts? Does anyone know any more about it?

P.S. does anyone know how to turn 'BBCode' on? I can't get the link to turn into a real hyperlink??

yeah im pretty skeptical, because i really doubt it is the issue for most people with cfs. It might help some people diagnose themselves to see if they have a hydrogen sulfide issue. I'll let other people try it out first;)

...if you want to make a hyperlink. Just copy and paste the link. It doesnt work if you use the url button in the message writer. I took it out a while back when i was getting spammed really badly.

H2S

Postby IAnH » Sat Jun 20, 2009 12:49 am

There may be a small subset of CFS where H2S is a factor (marker) but it is more likely to be a symptomatic byproduct of gastro-enteric infection or imbalance.

Photophobia, noise intolerance, low leukocyte count are rare in cfs. Mitochondrial dysfunction is far from substantiated despite many attempts to link cfs with abnormal oxidative metabolism, bearing in mind that chronic fatigue and cfs are different.

We still have difficulties diagnosing cfs so research programs can still have mixtures of subjects in them. So I am very sceptical and I think it premature to advertise a diagnostic tool.
