There is a major MEDICAL difference...us with the SYNDROME feel much worse and have flu symptoms within hours to a day of excessive exercise..Those with Chronic Fatigue (Not SYNDROME) feel better with regular exercise and dont suffer the delayed viral symptoms...That is the very important difference between the two conditions...If you research it properly you will be able to confirm this.

The syndrome designation in this country sounds like what other countries call Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. See http://www.geocities.com/sezar99q/MEandCFSHyde.html and http://www.ahummingbirdsguide.com/index.htm for more information.

Negative effects from exercising from those with CFS can be from weak adrenal gland function, known as adrenal insufficiency, hypoadrenia, adrenal fatigue, adrenal exhaustion, or Addison's disease.

I have experienced several reoccurrences of adrenal exhaustion so I know for a fact that exercise intolerance is a fact of life for some of us.

A helpful book you could read on this topic is "Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Syndrome" by James Wilson. You may be able to find it in a library, and if not, then on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

I am able to gauge my adrenal function by how I climb stairs, if I can exercise, and if my joints crackle and pop, as well as whether I feel rested or groggy when I first wake up.

Although it is not a cause in every single person's case of CFS, many with CFS have low adrenal gland function.

Ginseng, a natural herb, is an adrenal gland booster/stamina and energy builder, and also there are products on Spinelife by Standard Process that rebuild adrenal gland function. With rebuilt adrenal glands, I can go from having trouble getting up and down stairs and getting a weird sleepy feeling after exercise and going straight to bed and it negatively impacting me even after that day, to being able to walk blocks and then a couple miles.
