| Hi I'm new here. I am attempting to recover from a "push and crash" that I brought on myself last week. I have been managing okay and working part time until now. I have never experienced this level of profound fatigue. I am scheduled to see a renowned specialist in October but in the meantime went to my pcp, fondly referred to as Doogie Howser to present him with the Stepwise Approach and ask for such outlandish things as a b-12 shot. He apparently doesn't believe in b12 shots and as it turns out, may have some hearing loss. Though I have seen him numerous times for incapacitating muscle spasms, I told him again and again that my fatigue is my issue and I am unable to work because of it. The drug rep was leaving as I was coming in and he had lots of samples of Cymbalta that he gave me. Ugh. So it's an antidepressant that also interrupts the nerve-pain-brain pathway to relieve pain. Great. If I can stay awake long enough, maybe I'll try it. Is anyone on this drug? When I researched it, it says it may cause drowsiness and insomnia--two things I'm quite sure are not going to help my fatigue. any thoughts? |

| b12 is pretty harmless , im really suprised your dr. would have a problem giving it to you. My doctor said i could do a shot everyday if i wanted to. You cant take too much because you just pee the excess out. It does help, definately gives me energy |

i do hear that cymbalta can help with pain, although i havent personally tried it. Yeah, i do understand how you feel about antidepressants. Ive tried a few and they generally dont do anything for me.
As for b12, it generally helps most people with cfs. You can always take sublingual b12 as it work pretty well to. |

I've been on Cymbalta for a couple years. My doctor put me on it for back pain. It didn't help me for the back pain nor has it helped at all for my relaspe. It did help put things in perspective.
Everyone has a different reaction. I would give it a chance. You can always go off of it. |
