I also have itchy eyes..and all the same symtoms as you. i found out i had fibro about 3 1/2 years ago and this eye problem started about 2 1/2 years ago. i get really thin but strong strands of mucous in my eyes and they are darn near impossible to get out. my eyes get all itchy, red and sore. it just about drives me nuts every night. it doesn't seem to be as bad in the day time for some reason. I also have been to several different eye doctors and i get the same results as you, that theres nothing wrong with my eyes. i would like to hear back from you if you any other ideas on what to do with this problem!

Whatever you do avoid scratching your eyes, you might get a scar on the cornea, perhaps you could try lubricating drops to get rid of the mucus ? Always make sure to take a break if you are working in front of a screen a lot.

Hi Maureen
re:eyes, weird but made a huge change for about two weeks.
I put cucumber through a garlic press. Put on eyes and covered
w/slice of it for 20 min. Awesome result. Took away gunk and pain.
Hope it helps you too,
tammy

yeah, when things are bad, this is actually my worst symptom. i don't get any mucus, but at times it's felt like there's these little gnomes living behind my eyeballs, pounding on them. even when things are good, my eyelids twitch all the time.

for the most part, this is also the symptom that i'm never able to really do anything about. generally, i recommend klonopin (generic: clonazepam) to really calm things down. it helps with headaches generally.

I realize it's not exactly the same, but in the past I developed double vision , which cleared in a few months after cutting out caffeine, sugar, and over-medication, and by increasing de-stressing ,etc. , all of which affect the central nervous system. So could it also trigger pain in the eyes? I don't know - might have some affect. Just a long shot.

i could not believe it when my Dr. said that my eye pain was related to fibromyalgia. when i found that there are others that had this problem, it actually made me feel better. im not going nuts after all. how do you handle the pain. any advice is welcome.

I've had this a lot lately and it's just started to come on bad in the last two days. God I hate fibro/cfs!!! it's just one symptom after another if I don't have enough problems. I do find that its worse when i take amytriptyline the night before. I'm slowly trying to come off this medication but my sleep is really bad just now. It makes studying very hard for me. My eyes sometimes go blurry then they go back to normal very frustrating.

Has anyone found releif on this?
