I have Tarsal tunnel syndrome in my left foot. It is located from the bottom of the foot on the inside up to the ankle bone. I also have diminished nerve velocity verified by ultrasound and emgs. I also get pain in other areas of that foot and tingling sensations in both feet and sometimes up the legs and in the knees. One person who posted sounded like they might have tarsal tunnel. There is surgery, but I am not a candidate (probably no one with FMS is). Orthotics are too painful. I sometimes use a lidocaine patch on a very bad day. I only wear one particular version of new Balance gym shoes and sox that have no seams and have some padding(currently ones called Perfect Care that I found at Walgreens). Needless to say I cannot walk very much.

[img]My foot pain is very severe - every day, every step. When i first stand up i have to wait a moment before i get used to the pain enough to move. Because they hurt so bad I fall down a lot!!! That leads to other injuries too. Now need rotator cuff (shoulder) repair surgery. I am 64 and have had fibromyalgia for 16 yrs following a car accident. Had jaw and teeth damage with severe headaches for over 1 1/2 yrs. Started having severe IBS and severe diarrhea that is still a daily problem. Regular exercise helps - 3-5 times a week, only one I can do is swim. Also have gout and severe arthritis everywhere.Had neck surgery 2 yrs ago due to spinal column being pinched in 3 places - stenosis - that weakened arms and made me numb up to shoulders with severe pain in arms and neck. There has been some improvement since surgery and less pain and numbness but only 1/2 way. couldnt type this then. i never imagined that fibromyalgia could be part of the foot pain. good shoes and inserts do help - fall less. just got an electric scooter and love it :D [/color I love photography and playing with it on my computer. That takes me away from noticing the severe pain I have everywhere. doctor is finally addressing my pain with medication but i must use breathing thing for sleep apnea so i won't forget to breath at night. Last year i was taken off all anti-inflamatories due to a dive in my kidney function. thats when it all got overwelming and the gout knocked me off my feet completely. sleep became almost impossible. several months ago i started clonazepam at night and it helps a lot. also gabapentin, 800mg 3 x day for nerve pain and mood elevation, doxepin for sleep and depression. I am also anemic, low calcium and D, low thyroid, hi blood pressure and chloresterol and have asthma. feel like a huge mess! hope something i have mentioned may help someone else. using a hot tub is helpful too.

I have unbearable pain in my feet, 24/7. There are times it feels like I have no meat on my feet and when I walk it feels like my foot bones are on the ground. I also have times where my feet feel like they are freezing, on fire, millions of little needels pricking them, swollen, when not, like a knife is being shoved between my toe nails and skin. Many times I wish there were cut off as the pain is so unbearable! I miss being able to walk and wearing shoes is not an option as I can't find any that don't hurt my feet, so I wear slippers in the winter and flip flops in the summer! I HATE my Fibromyalgia with a passion!

I also experience foot pain but im sure this is common in people with firbromyalgia as every part of my body aches dunno about other people though. The only thing i can think of is using painkillers when it gets that extreme but like everything else with fibro were just told to live with it.

Not all people with fibro have foot pain! In the little town of a 1,000 there are 10 of us with Fibro, 2 of which are men and I am the only one with foot pain! The one thing I have learned with having Fibro for 7 yrs. is, we all may have the same symptoms, but not a one of us react the same way. What may work for me will not work for another. Mine has escaluated to the point that many times while crying I have begged my husband to cut my feet off and I don't cry too often!

Gina, back in December I went down steps too fast and missed one.My ankle twisted so far.I have no
health ins.It was swollen and in severe pain for a long time. The sharp pains lasted about 7 months.
Now my left foot,I can hardly bend my toes and get severe pains.I have to watch how I sit.If I turn my legs in and put any pressure on either of my feet I getpains, other than my back, etc.
I don't know if any other people with FM have these pains.I didn't have them before.

yep! all the time. I have plantarfasciitis and orthotics for them. I also have arthritis in my ankles. Bad weather means my ankles and feet swell up and ACHE so bad. Sometimes I can barely stand on them.

For your worst days, try soaking your feet a good 20 mins in hot water with epsom salts. It really helps! Especially for swollen feet. Even if you are only footsore from standing all day, it helps a lot.

I have recently develped bad foot pain now. I have Firbro and the past 6 months i have developed this pain in my left foot when i walk too much or stand too much. My right foot just hurts but my left foot really hurts just above the Arch of my foot and travels up my calf of my leg. i was told that is due to the Fibro from my Dr. i know yall's pain. This really keeps me from doing alot of things when it starts hurting like that. My legs get really tired and achy and then i have to sit a while and my foot i try to strectch it a little but that even hurts and can barely move my foot around.

YES I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. MY FEET HURTS ME REALLY BAD. I USE TO WEAR A SIZE 7 SHOE. NOW I HAVE TO WEAR WHAT FIT AND FEELS COMFORTABLE. WHEN I WAS TAKING THE SEVELLA IT HELPED A LOT BUT I COULD NOT AFFORD TO BUY IT. I WISH THERE WAS A WEB SITE WHERE I COULD BUY IT AT A CHEAPER PRICE.
