sorry for posting so many threads on here, but im a little anxious about the future and was wondering how many of yourselfs who have had cfs for many years fund yourselfs financially. i am living with my parents at the moment but its taking it's toll on them. i would like to move out in the near future but working is so difficult at the moment, how have many of you earned money? i am going part time at uni but it's so difficult to concentrate im thinking about dropping out till i feel better.

Dont feel bad about living with your parents if your have to. I lived with mine for a long time. It wasnt fun, but i didnt have any other options.
My parents were also a little wierd about it at first, but after a while i think they realized that i was really sick, and i needed help.
Probobly right now your parents think that your just going to snap out of it and they need to be tough on you. Which is what happened to me. But after a while they'll understand.

I got sick when i was 23. im 32 now. I lived with them on and off between 23-27( i went back to school, but kept dropping out) Now Ive found some supplements that helped me enough so i could drive a car, and do a few more things that i needed to function. Right now i work from home, doing internet advertising and web design. Its not easy, but after a while you'll find certain supplements or things that work for you, and maybe will give you a 5% boost. Then find another thing that will boost you 5%.
I take about 30 supplements a day. Things that help the most for me are sublingual b12, nac, vitalzyme, coq10, alpha lipoic acid. These might not work for you, but maybe a few of them will. But they get really expensive. If i were you i would try the sublingual b12. That seems to work for almost everybody.

Hi there, i do take supplements at the moment i take about 14, i think they make a tinyest difference but i still take them. I tried vitamin b12 and started getting tingling in my body so stopped them. 30 supplements a day is very expensive dont think i could afford that.

I'm 36 and still live with my parents. I've had CFS for over 20 years. The lack of independence never stops eating away at you unfortunately. Try to remember that its not your fault you're in this situation. Your parents made the decision to have children and that often comes with consequences - if they have to financially support you then so be it. Try in the nicest possible way make them feel a little guilty if the put unfair pressure on you. Lets face it, they wouldn't be so openly critical towards you if you had down syndrome would they; that would be inappropriate of course. Its a shame that you have to confront them with such scenarios to 'get them off your back' from time to time. I still have to to this day as I'm a complete (financial) failure in my fathers eyes!

Hi Neil

I have had CFS for 20 years. I was diagnosed 4 years ago.
I spent 3 years going down the mercury detox route.
I am very well these days and hope I will be 100 percent in another 6months.

Yep I work in IT. I have been lucky as i was in a job where I had lots of friends - so i was helped out alot.

Ive just recently moved into another IT company as I have a new found confidence in myself and I wanted to get away from the anchors of my friends constantly supporting me in my old workplace.

The journey using Guptas approach has really been a steady build up - i just didnt believe it BUT i kept doing it and NOW it is paying dividends

If you want any further advice - dont hesitate to ask!

Regards
CS :)

I pretty much do the whole programme - Im a perfectionist!!

2 x meditaions
2 x visualisations with my future self photo ( pic i use to help me visualise when i was healthy )
S & F

I now combine them:
Meditations and visualisation together
Visualisations and S & f togther

If you can get your Visualisations going you will make a significant breakthrough!

Make a collage of all things you want to do when your well with magazine cuttings!

Hundreds of STOPS during the day - I VARY them with ways to persuade my amygdala!

Have lots of distractions - comedys, sunbathe, go for a walk religiously very day..and increase the amount of times you do this.

Find your spirituality / faith daily - a prayer and visulisation

STAY in the moment if you can

Add a few things to help with stress :

aromatherpay
flower remedies
massages - concentrateon the head and neck/sholders
Stretches - yoga
get some support -perhaps a local M.E Group

Most of all be kind to yourself - I had all your symtoms and I am getting BETTER!!!

You may want to improveyour diet so that it balances your sugar levels

Protein, fats ( nuts) , saladsand some fruits and lots of WATER

Thanks
