i do. Its darn right annoying. Its like yours in that it will come on suddenly
and drive me nuts for ages (can be an hour or weeks till im rid of it) Its
often accompanied by shoulder pain

Using a memory foam pillow eases my neck loads when i sleep.

How do you deal with your neck pain?

i try to do a self massage which can help sometimes but other times the pain will not go away. it's definitley one of the worst symptoms of my cfs. any other suggestions to relieve neck tension would be helpful?

This will soon pass when you become more parasympathetic and tackle your core issues.

Massages are great - my neck is all but back to normal.....i could turn it at one stage!

Some neck pain can come from muscles further down the back, particularly ones that run down near the inner edge of your shoulder blades.

A good way to self massage these is to use a tennis ball against a wall. You can roll the tennis ball between the wall and your back and get quite good relief.

Try to identify trigger points. These are small points that are extra tender and are the key to getting your muscles to let go. If you can identify these and roll the tennis ball around on them it is great. It also works with these trigger points to just press against them if they are too tender to massage.

The tennis ball also massages general muscles well too.

It is also possible to massage the muscles along the top of your shoulders with a tennis ball by rolling it between a door jam and your shoulder muscle.

It's just another silly looking thing to do but hey all those people doing exercises in gyms or doing other activities like tai chi look strange too if you really think about it ;-)

P.S. A lot of tension headaches can also be relived by massaging these trigger points. It is amazing to feel a loosening above your eye or in your eye socket or on your skull by massaging trigger points in your back.

Hi there, i suffer from neck and head pain, my cfs was brought on after meningitis so therefore the neck and head is my weakest point of my nervous system.. You may find it interesting to research liver cleansing, i did and it has helped. Neck pain is apparently linked to a blocked up liver. Hulda clark's stuff is very interesting and i highly recommend it! Hope you feel better soon.x

Hi there, thanks for the info. Can i ask what vitamins do you take for the liver cleansing? i get paranoid about taking vitamins i don't know as I always think they could be doing more harm to myself.

Yes, neck pain is sometimes unbearable. I have found that adrenal supplements help this tremendously, as well as lower back pain. I also have tingling in my left shoulderblade which comes and goes.

When you say neck pain. Are you talking about the muscles in your neck ? Or your lymphatic system, tonsils throat etc.
