Im seeing someone private, Ive already had one session with her. She is familiar with the STOP techniques and aware how it keeps you in the "NOW" but thinks I will improve faster with the therapy. She is has years of experience with helping people with anxiety and uses EMDR that gets to the root cause of what triggered it. In my humble opinion this is where people are failing and why I stopped making progress - I wasnt resolving my traumas.

however I do believe its best to lower your Amygdala/Stress Response for a few months first before therapy to be effective and continue with the AR programme whilst you see a therapist. With this I now vary ashoks techniques so that it is specific to the symptoms and resolve some of the issues whilst i do it ..and I am feeling better and better. In all its making me more AWARE of traumas / deep issues which I can now address and be AWARE of when I start thinking o them.

I think you GP might be able to give you guidance on a therapist who helps with anxiety.

Keep going you will get there!
