LP or Gupta programme

Postby jankel » Wed Nov 25, 2009 2:43 am

Hi everyone
New member here and not sure what I'm doing yet :) I am a severe M.E sufferer for 20 years,I am going throuh severe relapse the last 7 mths, bedbound etc. my dad just paid for me to do LP and the weekend after I did feel quite a bit bit, then I dipped back the following week & I lost faith in it... maybe I should have carried on I don't, LP practitioner said to question my beliefs, whatever that means. Anyway my friend has just put me on to Gupta, she has seen good results.... as you can imagine I am so confused I just want to get myself well and I'll do whatever it takes, but i'm questioning one then the other programme

can't type much more but any advice is appreciated
Love to all

hi jankel,
welcome to the site. i too am 'severe', i did L.P. and like you felt a bit better then crashed. gupta has a gentler approach though some of the techniques are quite similar. are you able to watch d.v.d's and listen to c.d's ? that is important for doing the gupta programme. gupta does offer 100% money back if you don't feel any better after 6 months, i know 2 people who have had complete refunds, also people who have benefited greatly from the programme. so really you have nothing to loose if you order it.
very best of luck whatever you decide to do.

Hi Jankel

I am not familiar with LP but using the Gupta programme I have improved from essentially bedbound to 60-70% well in 7 months.

These threads about using the programme when severely affected may be of interest to you: gupta-programme-f11/topic884.html and gupta-programme-f11/topic773.html . I see there is also some discussion of the Gupta Programme vs LP.

As annie says Gupta's money back offer takes away the financial risk.

I feel very deeply for the postion you are in and wish you all the best with your decision.

I have done Gupta myself and heard from someone trustworthy who has done the LP. There are a lot of similarities in approach and theory. My personal belief is that the Gupta programme is more gentle.

Besides the financial security, another plus is that you get the stuff on dvd's. This means not one course in which you have to memorize it all (which can cause pressure and costs quite a bit of energy). You can watch and rewatch the dvd's as much as you like. As you say you have trouble concentrating on typing, this might be a big benefit. I felt quite lucid myself watching it the 1st time, but have rewatched all sessions about 3-4 times until now and get something new (that my sometimes foggy brain missed before) each time.

Best

Hi Annie & everyone
thank you so much for your reply, yes I can watch DVDs for a short while. I find it so hard not to focus on the body because the pain is wretched mmm I guess its just practice. I have had 3yr & 2 yr remissions in the 20 yrs where I have lived reasonable normally and then crash like this 7 month one. I have never talked to anyone with sever ME like me so its quite nice to know your not alone. I just felt confused as thre people around me have recovered using LP and I did feel better for a few days, I think its the thought of failing at it that doesn't help, the perfectionist personality as Gupta puts it.

well thanks again
Love
J
