Discuss The Guptra Programme's Amygdala Retraining Techniqes

gupta programme and taking adrenal hormones

Postby gu3vara » Sat Dec 19, 2009 6:50 pm

Hi,

I recently found out about the gupta programme, ordered it today and I hope that I'll found some help from it with my 4 years CFS. I'm looking forward to receive it.

I have a question about interaction between the amygdala retraining techniques and the use of low dose cortef and dhea. My levels were really low on a saliva test, low normal in blood test and I tested negative for adrenal insufficiency (addison) with an ACTH stim test. I think it's quite common with CFS to have such results of low cortisol and dhea.

I'm also taking thyroid hormones for hashimoto thyroiditis and testosterone because of hypogonadism induced by numerous infections since I'm a teenager (I'm a guy btw!). My doc says it could also be down regulated because of CFS, tough to say.

As for cortef, I'm taking 15 mgs of cortef since march, it helped reducing the adrenaline rushes so I would not stop it right now unless it interferes with the retraining. Gupta mentioned in an interview that amygdala controls the HPA axis so I want to do things the right way and stop if needed.

Any information would be much appreciated,
thx!

Seb

tried all that stuff...very very limited success. Adrenals compensate for poorly functioning liver. Started taking St Marys Thistle and other herbs and noticed an immediate massive difference. Also take Holy Basil. Is absolutely awesome. I know it sounds crazy, but i believe now that it is NOT more energy that we need, but more RELAXATION. Those on Gupta will know waht I mean. I read a doctor the other day who arrived at this conclusion about his cfs patients..."whatever their backgrounds or symptons, they had all lost the ability to deal with (ANY) stress."
