Feel normal at night

Postby ldg » Sun Feb 07, 2010 9:07 pm

I quite often feel normal at night and sometimes first thing in the morning until breakfast. Just wondering if anyone else experiences this. I was talking to a non cfs friend who thinks that means I just have anxiety. (She had really bad anxiety a year ago) No expectations of me at night so no anxiety. I asked her how that explains post exercise malaise and she said b/c your muscles are not used to it, which does not make sense to me as I am not bed bound. I didn't go through all the other issues - no point. What are your thoughts on this?

I get this as well, i guess the brain is just slowed down at these times and the symptoms get better. It still means you got cfs. If you experience the extreme fatigue on some days its not anxeity.

Darn my faulty memory, but I once read a realy good explanation for this, don't know where though.

I don't have this now but have done in the past. I'd sometimes wake up feeling like I'm all sharp and full of energy then half an hour later I just completely crumple.

I feel the same as you, I could say I'm cured at night when I wake up, it's pretty amazing, I thought it was just me!

I've noticed the same thing. I asked Ashok about it some time ago and here is his response:
"There are certain patterns of hormones and neurotransmitters which all get disrupted, therefore there can be unusual patterns of energy. This is common in patients, but nothing to worry about. Once you get better using the programme, then this will get better."

Maybe to do with levels of cortisol....supposed to be higher in the morning and go down thru the day. However some of us are all over the place.......mine are lower in the morning and higher at night ..that is why I feel better and have more energy at night .....its all to do with adrenaline. If in the morning if your cortisol levels are relatively normal, your body gets ready for action for the day, but with us this is an excitement so we go into a kind of anxiety excitement maybe..... This may seem a bit screwed up explanation but I believe it has to do with cortisol levels.

I too have the same pattern, have had it ever since I started the illness. Just have to go with it, annoying though it can be. I agree Nia, it does feel as though patterns are all awry, hormones all askew.

Thanks for all the replies. I enjoy the time I have feeling well and do what I can during that time without overdoing it. Remember to go slow! The problem is at night if I get carried away I won't be able to sleep - gotta keep calm and subdued.
