About Ashok Gupta - THE TRUTH!

Postby Ashok Gupta » Thu Nov 20, 2008 8:24 am

Dear All,

Having read a few of the recent posts on the thread entitled "About Ashok Gupta", I thought it only fair that I should be able to answer peoples' concerns.

- "Entrepreneurship"!

I currently run a clinic based in Harley Street, where I treat people for ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia. At this clinic I also see people for other conditions including stress, where I use amygdala retraining for other things, but now most of my work is with ME/CFS & Fibro patients. I also run a training company which specialises in Stress Management and Time Management. So all of these things are very much linked, and in fact in my training I emphasise the role of the amygdala in a whole host of conditions.

With respect to the speed dating, it was always a side hobby in the evenings, never my main focus, and in fact it was just a bit of lighthearted fun. I had set it up with a friend of mine and we sold the business on to someone in December 2006. So I am no longer involved in it for 2 years now. I see nothing wrong with having varied interests - I'm actually really glad that I did it!

Now let me link these things together. Trying to earn a living just from seeing patients with ME/CFS over the last 8 years was never feasible, so I did look at other ways of supplementing my income. And it was the best thing that I did. Because the money that I earned from from other things actually funded the creation of the DVD programme, and there was no way I would have been able to release the DVD programme at this price, or even create it in the first place! I have never revealed this anywhere, but to create the 15 hours of interactive video, the book, the charts, the website, etc, cost me upwards of $60,000 US Dollars, and 2 years of my life. Ask any TV production company in the UK how much it would cost to produce that amount of content! In some ways it was a personal financial gamble, but I knew it would be of benefit to people, and I wanted as many people around the world to have access to the treatment.

So am I entrepreneurial - probably! Am I ashamed of that? No, not at all! I actually associate entrepreneurialism with creativity and being prepared to push the boundaries of our understandings.

Many people are rightly concerned that people are trying to make money out of patients with these illnesses, and there are probably people like that. However I don't place myself in that category. Until my programme is independently verified as an effective treatment for ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia, I am offering a money back guarantee to all buyers, which makes it low risk for most patients (I don't know many other treatments that offer this). Furthermore, the first 3 hours of the DVDs are available for free on the internet, so you can make up your own mind. I never claim it helps everyone, there are around 10% of patients who aren't helped, and I am doing further research to understand why that is.

With respect to a trial, this is my number one priority. There are more and more professors and hospitals interested in conducting a trial simply because their patients are getting better/recovered using the programme. I will have some news on this soon, I cannot at the moment mention who they are until we actually gain the funding.

- My Experience of ME/CFS

I can assure people that I definitely had the illness! As will lots of patients who go through the programme will testify, because they can relate so closely to what I think they are experiencing. I was diagnosed by a GP and by a hospital CFS unit in the UK, and went through all biomedical tests to eradicate other conditions.

I was never bed bound, however I had all the symptoms including some immunological symptoms such as sore throats, as well as the neurological ones including poor memory, difficulty concentrating, etc. I also had the aches and pains in the muscles, post- exertional malaise, etc...you name it, I had it!

In fact you can watch a video of me below talking about my personal experience:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_fXqok9sYt8

- People Recovering 100%

I have been so busy recently, I have not gathered together testimonials, but I shall make that a priority. There are many people who are getting fully better, and I addressed this in a previous thread entitled Few Full Recoveries. As I had mentioned in that post, different people take different times to recover, and it does take some time for the body to get back into full shape ready for intense exercise -sometimes up to a further year. Also the amygdala can still be sensitive once it has been retrained, so it can interpret natural tiredness as "ME/CFS" exhaustion, so it can sometimes kick into action again - so it has to be a gentle process. Graded exercise over a period of time can help. To help this end, for those of you who can, I would strongly suggest coaching at our clinic to iron out any final issues to get the body back to full 100% health - sometimes it does require that added personal touch, and I am considering making the phone coaching a core part of the programme.

So for those people who are posting in this forum and questioning my motives, I understand your concerns. However, please do understand that I have tried to navigate the tricky world of ME/CFS with integrity, and tried to help as many people as possible. If you have issues that you want to discuss with me, then simply address me directly and I will be happy to answer your questions - I will be as open as I can be.

There are many people who are battle hardened from having these illnesses, fighting with medical providers, insurance companies, doctors, etc, so I understand there is a lot of anger/resentment at anyone that says they can help. But please bear with me, the independent trial evidence will come soon.

Warm regards
Ashok

Hi Everyone,

Also just forgot to add that I will collect testimonials from fully recovered patients, and add them on a new thread. I will also ask some of these people to come and post if they want to,

About Ashok Gupta

Postby EmeraldDreams » Sat Nov 22, 2008 9:09 pm

I feel a little embarrassed that this man had to come here and justify himself, his business interests and his cfs history because of a couple of people questioning his honesty! And what's more he did it with such decency and grace! Says a whole lot about the man and, well, even more about those people! Thanks Ashok for that and for all your time and hard work that you have invested in trying to help those of us with this awful illness. With much gratitude, ED.

Hear! Hear!

I've found Ashok to be a real gentleman in all my dealings with him. He has always answered any email questions and concerns I've had about the programme and given me helpful advice when I was in difficulties - all for no cost at all. It can be hard to be a pioneer in any field - you're bound to be misunderstood and attacked from certain quarters, and I think he has dealt with this very well.

Personally, I'm finding it exciting to be part of such ground-breaking science! Especially now that I can experience that it's really working.

Thank you for your thorough and compassionate response, Ashok. I am so grateful for all of your work and insight into this illness. It's been about 11 months since I started your program, too weak to leave my bed or feed myself. Last week I started driving my car a bit again and am up and around every day. I often cook dinner now, do the laundry, etc. For me, I guess it's not been necessary to see testimonials from more people who have fully recovered. In my mind, I figure that if I can go from bed bound to where I am now, there's no reason that trend won't continue until I'm fully functional. But I think your point is well taken that people with CFS have dealt with so much disappointment with "supposed cures" that many are naturally very skeptical.

Hi All

Its my wifes birthday today. She normally crys on her birthday becasue another year has gone and she is still sick. Today she is happy becasue she is well - thanks to Ashoks programme. Thank you Askok!

Funnily enough we hosted Dr Charles Lapp last week as he was doing a brief speaking tour of NZ. I asked him about Ashok's programme and he was quite positive. He said that he uses it with some of his clients and has been getting some very positive results. He also said that they are planning a clinical trial together. Further evidence of the fact that Ashok and his programme should be taken seriously.

New to Gupta programme

Postby brightscene » Wed Jan 14, 2009 9:01 am

Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie here... I'm Craig - and I have diagnosed CFS (like the majority of you I guess)

Personal story - Back in 2003 I was an extremely sporty and energetic individual, pretty stressful work life but thought I was coping fine at the time as a project manager before I went on holiday to Crete.

A week into the holiday I believe I got bad food poisoning, I found I could drink alcohol to mask the symptoms for a few days so I could at least try and enjoy the holiday

On the plane home, My stomach and chest pains got worse simliar to a heart attack and couldn't breathe and passed out multiple times - it was the worst experience of my life and I felt I was going to die for about 5hours during the flight.

I felt slightly better a day or so later, but felt very flu like and everything I ate seemed to react with my digestive system with bad stomach pains, I saw my GP, had all sorts of blood tests, endoscopies, thyroid tests, all the gastrointestinal tests privately, allergy tests , scenar, removed all mercury fillings, elimination diets, NAET, EPD, supplements, Liver/Gall bladder flushes (which a lot of stones came out so that did help me in some way!), Meditation (although I can't concentrate because of constant stomach pains makng me divert my thoughts)

During the following 12 months, I was told my symptoms were consistent with IBS type C and it was all in my head and offered anti depressants (which I refused to take as I wasn't depressed). I was told I had to live with it.

I went steadily downhill since the original food poisioning episode , although not immediately, I lost 14 kg in weight and gradually got more fatigued until the state I am in now.

Some days I am worse than others, where I couldnt get out of bed. I had to take months off work and am presently on restricted hours.

I have brain fog, constant fatigue, slur/stutter words, poor memory recall. Sensitivity to light/sound/fumes/foods, no motivation or concentration, breathing problems, chest pains, muscle pains.

Simple things I used to do on autopilot are now the most difficult things in the world. I did attend a CFS clinic but I am on a waiting list to be seen (6 months+)

I know from fairly recent sleep studies my sleep pattern is very erratic although I am sleeping through I am tossing and turning every 20 minutes and waking up exhausted (Sleeptracker watches are useful for finding this out). I did try Seasonal Affective Disorder lamps to reset my Sleep Circadian rhythm but that did not help either.

After finding out about my sleep patterns being so erratic, I decided maybe my brain has something to do with it...

Which led me to Ashok.... I spoke to him yesterday and ordered my programme after viewing his free videos.

Everything I have seen and read, leads me to think Ashok is a trustworthy guy who can explain things in a simple manner I can understand. The fact that he also offers it at this low price with a full refund within 6 months reinforces that to me.

I'm looking forward to the programme and will post a diary here of how I get on - Hopefully that will keep me motivated but I would be really interested to hear of other peoples experiences on the program/recovery and hope if I ask a few questions people will try and answer them for me

Many thanks

Craig

Got the package today

Postby brightscene » Sat Jan 17, 2009 4:27 pm

Thanks for the kind messages of support

Day 1 ---- Received package today. Looks very professionally done.

Tried the Amygdala main retraining, feel a bit lighter... Early days and so much to work through......

I did find it difficult to remember a time when I felt full of energy but I will keep trying.

Interestingly though, a lot of it makes perfect sense and I did quite a bit of NLP before I got ill and bits are coming back to me....

I intend to stick to the program for six months though, I'm on minimum supplements at the moment so if anything improves it is definitely down to Ashoks programme.... will keep you posted in weekly updates

I couldn't remember a time when I felt healthy either, so I just imagined what it felt like and, although it seemed futile at first, somehow, with repetition and practise, that feeling got stronger and stronger, until now I can almost turn it on at will, in seconds.
