I think that we sure could shortcut much explanation and allow greater understanding if we can talk numbers.

I've been at 40 for around 20 years rarely better periods , sometimes much worse.
In 5 months of using the program I am at 52 I'd say.

Ashok would you agree with this rating scale or give us one that we can use as a reference, because percentages with meaning has everyone on the same understanding then.

Thank you
Sylvia

This scale seems similar to that of David Bell, which is quite commonly used to describe CFS disability. See

rating scale

Geesh I'm sorry,

I just noticed nowhere in my post did I give credit!

I got this from Bruce Campbell.

Ashok never gave a percentage table. And I hoped that we on the forum would be able to have an agreed on definition of what 85% means, 40 % etc.

It would be easier to just say I went from this number to this number to this number in these many months.

Thank you for the link.

I must say I've never liked any of the scale's I've read in books/online. I think people's cases are much too individual. They consider fatigue to be the main/only symptom and don't take account of the numerous other factors.

I mean I rate myself around 65% but I'm not at a stage to work yet.

Some people might find them helpful though.

I think this scale is great. I would love to see the addition of sleep and exercise tolerance.

Those two factors are the most crucial to me in specifying my condition and/or recovery.

But I think it gives us a clear picture of where we are all, much better than percentages, which compare apples to oranges.

Ashok?

Oh where oh where is Ashok?

It would be wonderful if HE would make a rating scale for us. It would be so much better than symptom talk. Who wants to read about others symptoms or talk about their own? That is not useful and I'd think Ashok would agree.

Whereas if we had a FAQ with the rating scale, newbies could come and understand the number talk.

How sweet it would be to have an updating signature--I think real motivating.

20 years CFS at 40. 5 months after Ashoks program 52

Then when hitting 60 or whatever can switch how many months it took. There is a person here who didn't really start reaping results until after a year. Everyone is different. But to be able to see on any post the improvement is so inspiring.

Hi Everyone

Thanks for your questions. I think I would have to look into this further as to what is used in standard questionnaires in trials. I will be announcing some trials soon and will work with my co-investigators to ask for their expertise on rating scales.

Kind regards
Ashok
