what are people's opnions of the lightning process. i have been on the website and there are success stories. i know you have to be skeptical of these treatements but they have worked for some. i thought this paticular story was quite inspiring http://www.lightningprocess.com/tabid/3 ... fault.aspx

thanks.

do you people really believe the problem is all in your heads ?
The lighting process is run like a pyramid scam. The fact they claim to cure people after 3 days, is simply just ridiculous.

i do know someone who was cured in three days. sadly, i wasn't, but, it can happen. i don't know why some things work for some and not for others, is it to do with the diagnosis, or are some more open to change? i wish i knew!

Its in the brain - amygdala and cellualr - mitochondria!
Once you get your body in a healing state b applying the techniques its only a mtter of time when u become better.

You can learn the techniques and how to appy them in 3 days but wont be cured!!!

That could take 6 months and more!

logically it sounds insane, but the fact is people have been cured for whatever reason.

I did it. I was cured in 3 days. I relapsed badly 4 months later. It can work but has high rate of relapse.

I haven't done the LP but was interested in it. Its really difficult to find descriptions of the process on the internet, but this one is pretty good:

http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Lightning-Process-Didnt-Work-For-me

The tutor stood up. ‘To stop this you have to get up and say ‘Stop’ make a physical movement, step back or cross your wrists in a pushing away movement.’ And she did the movement for us. Then she showed us how to go through an affirmation/self-coaching process, which I think is copy righted so I’ll paraphrase. You ask yourself if you want to choose happiness. Which you obviously do and then you say how fantastic you are to have stopped the negativity thought. You ask yourself what you really want, then you answer yourself, and again ask yourself how you are going to get there. The answer of course is to keep doing the process, getting rid of those negative thoughts. Then you tell yourself how great you are again and maybe have a bit of a hug with yourself, then…….. no nothing, that’s it.

Kerching. Five hundred and Fifty pounds please.

Does any of that sound familiar?!! (apart from the bit about £550). It sounds exactly like Gupta's amygdala retraining technique. Can those of you who have done both confirm the similarity between the two techniques? BTW Phil Parker currently charges £2,500 (about $4,000) for a 3 day LP seminar to do the above.

Yes I did LP everyday. My cfs went after a month but I had severe anxiety for first time. When I ccrashed 4 months later I had severe cfs for first time ever. I wish I never done LP or I wouldn't be this ill. they don't help u to address why u got ill in first place.

I did the LP too, three years ago. It's very similar to the Gupta programme, but it didn't help me at all, because they put too much emphasis on getting better quickly, and if you don't you end up feeling a failure or putting too much pressure on yourself and ending up feeling worse. Ashok really understands how sensitive the amygdala has become and how much it needs calming down, and that's what has been helpful for me.

Also, I have to say, I've found the LP people to be real money-grabbers. I paid £400 for the initial training, and then whenever I wanted to ask my trainer a question, I had to pay again for more sessions. I think it is vastly overpriced, and they don't tell you that you'll probably need to spend a lot more on back-up sessions.

At Ashok's seminar yesterday I met a man who'd done some research, asking people who'd done the LP how it had worked for them. He found 5 people who'd recovered, and 40 who hadn't! I don't know how accurate that was, but I found it interesting.

that is so interesting about the lightning process. i too felt pushed, not so much on the course, though it was there, but in the follow up sessions. i was not heard at all, when i said how i had been struggling, and just last week i had an e-mail from my trainer, who said i was not well as i had not fully committed, by not letting my carers go (i am bed bound and live alone), i find this ridiculous and insulting, if i had a husband or someone here willing to help a bit, should i let them go too? she also told me it was my choice whether i got' back on my bike or put it back in the shed after falling off'. i don't believe that i have fallen off, i just know that ashok's more gentle and compassionate way is far more suited to someone of a sensitive disposition.
it is very helpful to know that others have had similar experiences, the lightning process people will never ever admit that some people don't get well, let alone that some of us are made worse. it was that endless pushing that got me ill in the first place.
very best wishes to everyone.
