Visualisation in the "Present" as well as the Future

Postby CS1 » Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:48 am

What occured to me as theat perhaps the Visualisation needs to be taken further by visualising in the "Present" as well as the Future.

This is really turning a corner for me - i visualise my day and tasks and work etc.

I"m still not convinced the STOP technique is actually rewiring my amygdala in the way it is described in the program. But I do think its a good idea to interrupt the negative thoughts and add the positive visualization.

I find it even more helpful when I actually embrace the future self during that portion. When I really take on that person I do feel as though I am temporarily stepping out of the skin of the sick person carrying these symptoms, which makes the motivational bit more effective, because it is coming from someone who feels healthy and lighter.

I used to go through the motions and lines during this part, which I don't think worked as well.

The whole process is becoming easier after working on my blocks and reconnecting with my own faith /spirituality.

visualising in the present is used in the lightning process to replace negatively anticipating events. It is good.
