Postby neil25 » Sat Sep 19, 2009 5:17 am

I was wondering if anyone has been tested for this? the symptoms are similar to cfs and i know not the same but it might be worth getting it checked out.

Yes get checked out with all the tests you want...I have read tonnes of books on health...and I finally realised that you need to become PARASYMPATHETIC inorder to heal...for some i think they may need additional support...ie through coaching.

Ultimately its the hyperarousal of the amygdala which are causing all these symptoms and it may take some time to calm this down.

Dietary wise i try to eat light foods that are colurful and interesting . Lots of salads protein and fats and some treats
Ialso do the alternate nasal breathing exercise before and afetr eating to help with digestion:)

my gp told me recovery for chronic fatigue varies greatly he said some people can have it for months and others have it for years its very difficult to tell. personally i know someone who had it for 9 months and then completly recovered and now works full time. I don't think there is a specific treatement which recovers them its their own body healing.

Lydia: it seems like we are doing relaxing things, but actually we can't really relax at all, because we are so hyped up by the amygdala. We feel tired all the time, because all our energy is used up with fear and worry, but when we sleep we don't wake up feeling refreshed, because subconsciously that anxiety is going on continuously. That's what the amygdala retraining programme works on.

If anyone is interested in the nutrition side to help with energy. OHC is best place to start..I can understand if someone has been ill for decades that their ENERGY reserves may be severely depleted even after they have become more parasympathetic. Infact it could give them the energy to truely get better. OHC do lots of testing:

My husband - who has no CFS - has celiac disease. As many people with Lyme disease also become gluten intolerant, my doc wanted me to go glutenfree, too.
I was 100% glutenfree for 5,5 years and only started cheating during the last vacation in August this year.

Gluten or no gluten: it changed nothing about my CFS or any other symptom.

I think, however, that it might be the reason for some people. It's easy to try - just stop all the gluten (even the hidden traces in processed food) for 3 weeks. You should feel very different then, if this was the reason.

I haven't been tested for coeliacs yet, but i know i feel a lot worse from eating wheat and gluten products so it might be worth getting checked.

I was tested for celiac early on in the illness, I remember going back to the hospital for the results and the dr telling me delightedly that I was clear, she couldn't understand why I would have been so much happier to have something concrete with an established protocol. Worth having the test though. Have any tests you can get without getting too worked up about having them. I used to be so calm in hospitals, now though, my blood pressure shoots up and I shake inside. All the Amygdala doing its thing!

Neil,
That is very normal in the beginning.....that is the Amygdala trying to rule you....it is fighting for dominance. Remember it has had open slather for quite sometime. It will settle...relax about it and dont get uptight....look at it and say "isnt this ämusing," look at the wonder of it, like you are looking down on it watching its behaviour. That way, we relflect away the fears and be consumed by them.... that makes you see it as comical, rather than it getting a foothold. You might initially have to keep doing STOPS heaps of times when it gets like that but it will settle to a more manageable level if you try to stay calm. Doing the meditations too help calm it. S&F calms the Amygdala. I say it everywhere I go.
