Where do i start, oh, i dunno. perhaps a short explanation.....
47 year old female. suffered a haemorrhage from a brain tumour approx 8 years ago, followed by surgery to remove. Result (apart from successful removal of said tumour) is CFS. I thought i't got it under control, I used to work part time for a large company, 5 hours, 4 days a week, and that seemed to suit. But then it all changed..........
My husband fell out with his employer in a major way, and ended up unemployed. His choice then was to return to the pub industry, which he loves. We now own and run our own pub, which is obviously, very very hard work. We have staff, but they have a habit of being sick; on holiday; or leaving, just when i'm at my most tired, lol.
Maybe it was a brave choice, or maybe a stupid one, i don't know. but the reality is now i can't just rest when i need to. My Dr tells me not to fight the tiredness, but i've no alternative. How on earth am i going to cope with this. Just wondered if there was anyone out there that fights against CFS and wins.............. |

what are you doing that is making you feel better so you can work?
is it supplements or not overexerting?
It seems like your stuck working, maybe you should try some new treatments to give you an energy boost. I just started doing b12 shots and that is a big help. Gives me alot more energy. Also antioxidants like co-q10 can give you a boost. |

Feeling better?? who said anything about feeling better I feel awful all of the time, my whole body aches, i have trouble holding my head up, my legs hurt terribly and don't want to work; but i'm a very very stubborn person and will NOT give in - even though i'm told that would be the best thing to do. I certainly don't feel like working, but i'm proud that I do, even though if often ends up with me collapsing on the sofa in a heap.
i was 'written off' as sick for the rest of my life, but i'd be dammed if i'm gonna let that stop me from earning my own living and not relying on the lousy benefit system.
As I said, maybe i'm brave, but then again, maybe i'm stupid |

good for you that you are still working, though i understand it can be very hard. Have you tried any treatments?
Supplements do help me alot, i wish there were some good medical treatments, or real drugs, but unfortunately ther isnt any right now.
I hear people are doing well with the yasko vitamin protocol, im takign alot of antioxidants like coq-10, alpha lipoic acid. They definately help with energy |

Firstly, if it is CFS that you are suffering from then working like you are doing will just make it worse, you could end up unable to work at all.
For short term help see your doctor and get him to give you Vitamin B12 injections - at least 3 a week preferably one every day. You could instead get Vitamin B12 sub-lingual lozenges (from your natural health shop) - you would need 6000mcg to 10000mcg a day.
For help with a real chance of being cured try the Gupta Program.

Thanks for your responses, i'm currently trying CoQ10 on a daily basis, to see how I fair with that. And looking into the Vitamin B12, shall speak to my doc when i've a chance to get there.
One thing for certain is no matter how bad i feel, i WILL NOT give in! and if that means i'll get worse, well, i'll try to cope with that when necessary.... |

Hi Flooz
Just wanted to let you know I'm a fighter also ... only because I need to be! I'm a single Mum, with 3 great children - I have to work part time to pay the rent, and I'm also studying full time at Uni.
I would much rather rest when i need to, but there's not much choice in the matter. Yes I'm a mess most of the time, feel like crap, would love to lie on the floor & sleep in the middle of a grocery shop ... lol.
How much better would I feel, if i were able to rest when i needed to? ... That would be all the time! I would be a hermit & have no life!
Good on you for getting out there girl! |

yeah it is really tough you've just got to do the best you can and just accept that your gonna feel horrible for at least the time being. Hopefully there will be some medical advances or new treatments that will help us SOON!
Im still not able to work right now, hopefully i will be able to in the future |

it is so tough to have fatigue and pain and hold down a job. I never know what im going to feel like from one day to the next. So i feel like i can never plan ahead.
SOme days i feel ok and can do alot, but some days i am way worse and cant do anything. That is so frustrating. The whole up and down cycle of it.
If i have a significant amount of time where i am doing better, i feel like i am getting better. but then i have bad days again and am right back where i started. |

| There is a cure for chronic fatigue, but don't bother with the doctors or medication. No chance of getting you well. What you need is energy, energy and more energy. But who can give this to you. I can't tell you who to go to unless you live in North London, but search around for weird alternative types, bite the bullet and then you WILL GET BETTER. My son was cured of severe chronic fatigue, now aged 21 he is about to embark on a new life. That means my wife and I are also about to live again after 10 years of caring for him. |

This is a late reply to your post but posts on this forum are really slow--people just don't have the energy for it It's been a month since your post. How are you feeling now? |

Hi hhh - thanks for asking. it's been a while since i visited the forum, partly through working hard and partly through CFS kicking in. At the moment, i'm cream crackered; 2 out of 3 staff are off sick, so somehow I have to soldier on.... And I will keep going despite all the messages about making myself worse etc, but I will not give in.
Many many thanks also to those people that understand that fighting is a lot more satisfying than giving in; i meet many people in my industry that don't fight, just give up, and I'm very proud not to be one of them. |
