| I think lyrica is great too, i just started taking this drug for my fibromyalgia and it works really well without really any side effects. It is more on the expensive side though |

Hi, I'm new here and thought this would be a good place to start. I have severe FMS and CFS.
I've been taking Lyrica to treat the Fibro pain for about 7 weeks now. My doctor started me off at 50 mg/day and said I could increase it to 150mg/day as I tolerated it. I tolerated it quickly, moving to 300mg/day in a week’s time. I stayed at 300mg/day until a couple of days ago when major stress from work finally took its toll and pain broke through. I’m now taking 450mg/day and tolerating it just fine.
It was studied back in 2003 for fibro pain treatment, but hasn't been widely used until lately. Here's the 2005 study http://www.immunesupport.com/library/showarticle.cfm/id/6384 |

Pregabalin (Lyrica) is lovely
Without it I literally could not function. Bit expensive over here in the UK (£1/$2 a pill), thank goodness for the NHS! |

| i used to take a drug called neuronitn for pain, which is an older form of lyrica. I read that lyrica is just the active part of the chemical taken from neurontin, so it will have even less side effects. Neuronitn hardly had any side effects to begin with, so lyrica probobly has even less. I think i might want to give it a try because my pain has been coming on pretty bad lately. |

Hi all,
I am new here. Been finally diagnosed with Fibro. My arthritis doc put me on Lyrica 300mg per day. Both my PCP and my brother who is an RPh said that's a high dose for someone my weight (116 and still losing for no apparent reason) but from what I've read it's not an abnormal dose. I do experience severe blurry vision when reading while on this med and my pain doctor freaked. He tried cutting my dose in half. This immediately caused an increase in pain and caused me to up my dose of hydrocodone. After speaking to the pharmacist here, my PCP and my brother about the vision, they said it's a listed side effect and no big deal. So I went back on the 300mg per day and I deal with the bad vision.
This med has been a lifesaver when it comes to pain but I am desperate to find and ask for and actually get a med that helps with this awful debilitating fatigue. Anyone taking anything for FATIGUE that helps?
Thanks! |
