Hi-
I have long suffered for at least 8 months before getting any answers and now will be going up to OHSU in Portland for treatment next month. It's been quite the road with the normal process of MD's telling me it's psychosomatic, anxiety, etc. The only blood test that came back positive was the ANA, but MD's said it frequently runs as a "false positive". I thought I was dying at one point with no one initiating any advice, answers or treatment! God heard my prayers I finally bought a book on CFS and have been treating myself with supplements until I am officially treated at the hospital.
During this time, I have unfortunetly had to apply for disability, but in Oregon, you need to be unable to work for a full year before receiving any benefits. How do people do it? I was a physical therapist before this and now am able to do very little. I don't even know if I will be accepted.
After reading some of the blogs... yes, it saddens me to hear the stories of friends and family members disregarding the horrible symptoms.. mine have had no clue how severe this got and is. I keep telling them it's like someone replaced your blood cells with lead or that you just feel like Chewbacca all of the time.
oh, and does anyone have any good sleeping aid products? (preferably natural).
God Bless!
