hello,
Im pretty sure that i have fibromyalgia, but havent yet been diagnosed by a doctor. Ive had bad pains in my muscles for the past six months and it seems to be getting worse. I went to see a doctor for a different reason and told him about my pain problems. He took some blood and did some test and they came back negative for rheumatic pain. Im not really sure what i should be dong next.
I have pain pretty much all over. Im my knees, wrists, shoulders, and feet. I get muscle sasming sometimes and i have horrible sleep.
I wanted to ask a couple questions. I have joint problems, the hurt and click. I have an evaporator cooling system which makes the air very damp, i think this is making my symptoms worse. Also i have some foot pain, and it is getting hard to walk
Does anyone here have similar problems? does this sound like fibromyaliga to you? |

Hey martini, it too bad that your coming down with fibro symptoms. It was hard for me to deal wtith at first, but after a while i have begun to accept it. If i were you i would try to find a specialist in your area, dont go to a regular doctor, because not all of them beieve in this disease or would even know what to do. You should get your thyroid and adrenals checked as they can cause some fibro like problems.
good luck!! |

| usually a doctor can diagnose you because there are tender points that people have in common. Definately try to go to a specialist, a regular doctor may not even be familiar with fibromyaliga and would probably just give you anti-depressants. Some like cymbalta can help take the edge off the pain. But there are many more thing other than anti depressants to try |

| Oh, i hope it isn't fibro. Also get checked for multiple sclerosis. I believe that is one of the other standard tests for fibro. But ya finding someone who even knows what it is may be difficult. And the only real diagnosis for fibro is to rule everything else out then check how many trigger points can't stand like 10lbs of pressure (god i hate it when they do that.) |

| I just got diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I've been on long-term narcotics for another problem (osteonecrosis)...what are some other solutions for pain, because these pills don't seem like they work very well. Do antidepressants actually help like I've heard they do? |
