natural chronic fatigue relief

Postby Elefrank » Fri Dec 07, 2007 12:01 pm

I have been searching for something that is natural to help me get more energy and to help reduce my bouts with chronic fatigue. I have seen a few things here and there. I wonder if anyone has ever seen anything that has worked for them?

adrenal supplements always help me with fatigue. Also alpha lipoic acid and co-10 can give me alot more energy. The coq-10 and alpha lipoic are a little on the expensive side. The adrenal supplements are pretty cheap and work well

There is so many things out there that can help. Have you had your Iron checked. Sometimes as simple as having your Iron checked and finding out that its low and using Iron supplements can help. Recently I ordered a product called activive. I have only been taking it a week and haven't seen a whole lot of difference but I have seen some. I guess only time will tell but you have to do what makes you feel better and everyone is different. So I would suggest trying different things one at a time so you know what is working and what is not. Good Luck.

Dr. Schulze Superfoods was immensely helpful to me (look it up on the Internet and price compare before buying, the prices are variable). Check ebay for it too.

Adrenal fatigue/adrenal exhaustion/adrenal insufficiency/hypoadrena - research this on the web and read James Wilson's book "Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Syndrome" if the info on the web sounds like you.

Ginseng is a good adrenal booster.

There are many things that helped me to recover but this is a start.

I have heard good things of Siberian Ginseng (now called Eleuthero). I have read that Holy Basil has been found to be even better than that, so that is what I have been taking.

have used ginseng, with results ranging from good to disastrous. It seemed to be brand dependent. These days i use holy basil. I find it excellent for ratcheting down the internal tension and stress. iherb has it.

Has anyone tried Macca root powder ?

Maca is a dehydrated, root vegetable, not a drug. It is a benign, medicinal food which has been in use for 10,000 years in Peru. Dried Maca roots are ground to powder and sold in drug stores in capsules as a medicine or as a food supplement to increase physical stamina. Peruvian medical doctors say that maca root promotes optimal functioning of the hypothalamus and the pituitary, thereby improving the functioning of all the endocrine system - thyroid, pituitary and adrenal glands.

I've ordered some powder and I'm going to sprinkle in smoothies or put on porridge.

Interested to see how you go on the maca. tried it a while ago, but body reacted badly...too stimulative. Might be ok now that I have improved a lot. A lot of these things "should " be good for us, but its really a lottery as to if the body will accept it. A few years back i tried spirulina which was just disastrous.
