Dr Myhills treatment program (uk)

Postby kissaragi » Sun Jan 27, 2008 12:20 pm

Hi, ive had CFS for about 13 years now (im starting to lose count!) and about 2 and half years ago i got onto dr myhills books and started her program.

It involves an elimination high protein, low carb diet at first with no wheat or dairy and as little sugar as possible. Assuming your not skipping about singing then you move onto her supplement regime slowly. in my case it was D ribose, L carnitine, Vit c (high dose), a mineral powder she makes to her own spec, a multi vit and mineral, vit D, fatty acids, Magnesium by injection and b12 by injection.

As far as i know its done absolutely nothing for me and im trying to cut her stuff out slowly and then try something else. Has anyone else had luck with Dr Myhill?

hi kissaragi, i've been seeing dr myhill. she prescribed so many pills and injections that i didn't know if i was coming or going. the d-ribose i had fed the candida and made me worse, the mag injections she gave me have aluminium in them which is linked to alzeimers and an excitotoxin. so i quit it. i don't place much trust in her. she does help some people, but not me or anyone i've heard of!

hi kissaragi, i liked your post. i haven't seen dr s. myhill myself as i live in oz but had a very good read on her webpages.
initially i was exited. so much info!

however, neither the strict diet nor the supplements for mitochondrial health did anything for me. in fact, the diet leaves me a lot weaker.

I used the main supplements recommended by Dr Myhill for nearly a year. Q-10, D ribose, Acetyl-L carnitine, Vit c (high dose), Magnesium (800mg/day).

I did find it relieved some of the muscular aches and decreased my temperature fluctuations so I was more comfortable but after those improvements I didn't notice any more. During my time using those supplements I went from about 25 % on CFS Scale to 5-10% and essentially bed-ridden. Of course they weren't the cause for this decline but they didn't save me from it either.

Two months ago I started on the Gupta programme and have since cut out all the Myhill supplements and have gone from 5-10% to about 30% in those few short weeks.

Cheers
