Tried malic acid for cfs

Postby qssight98 » Sat Aug 09, 2008 7:53 pm

hi,
i was reading about malic acid being beneficial for giving more energy to people with cfs. It is supposed to make more atp for the cells and give more energy. Has anyone ever tried this supplement?

ive tried malic acid before, it gave me a small boost of energy but i had a hard time sleeping when i took it. Im very sensitive to stimulating supplements, so it might be a better reaction for you.
A dr recommended to me, you should give it shot. i think it was a pretty cheap supplement

I recently started taking Magnesium Malate. It's a form of magnesium combined with malic acid. People with CFS usually have very low magnesium, and the magnesium malate form has been recommended by some CFS specialists because it is absorbable and you get the benefit of the malic acid at the same time.

I take a full dose before I go to bed and it does not stimulate me, even though I do get overstimulated and have trouble sleeping if I take Vitamins C or B-complex. Magnesium is supposed to help you relax.

I take a supplement called Fibrodol made by Clinicians, which is magnesium and malic acid. I find it lessens pain and helps me to sleep, but I need to take them for a couple of days for them to kick in properly. I certainly have more energy on them, but don't find it overstimulating.
