I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 1996 after having severe fatigue and muscle pain since 1993. I was unable to work for about 3 years. In 2004, I was diagnosed with thyroiditis, which again took me out of work. I've been on varying amounts of Synthroid. It's been up and down, I try to work at my job as much as I can. Recently, I started having an increase in pain, feeling like I have tendonitis everywhere, and the fatigue stops me from doing anything. Last month I was put on prednisone for 12 days. Pain came back even worse. Now I have another script for prednisone for a month. The prednisone did help while I was taking it, but I'm afraid of what I'll feel like after the next 30 days if I start taking it again. My chiropractor wants me to try taking DHEA instead. I'm just so confused, but I think I might try just about anything to get rid of the pain and fatigue, I don't remember what it's like to not have it, as it's been with me for 14 years.
